Sysco is seeking an experienced Senior Functional Analyst – Operations Data Insights to join our Warehouse & Labor Management Technology team. This role bridges the gap between business operations and data engineering, enabling smarter decision-making through advanced data analysis and insights across supply chain and logistics processes.
You’ll partner across operations, IT, and data teams to optimize data flows, empower analytics, and support reporting platforms—all to unlock real-time insights and elevate Sysco’s operational intelligence.
Roles and Responsibilities
Lead requirement gathering, functional design, and documentation for data warehouse
Use SQL extensively (mandatory) to extract, transform, and validate data across diverse data sources.
Map data interfaces, establish mappings between operational systems and warehouse schemas, and support ETL processes.
Analyze supply chain and logistics processes (e.g., routing, tracking, picking, delivery) and translate findings into data models and dashboards.
Collaborate with data engineers and informatics teams to define requirements, prioritize enhancements, and validate data pipelines.
Design, build, and maintain reports/dashboards using Tableau (or other analytics platforms) to communicate KPIs, trends, and performance metrics.
Perform validation and QA of data flows, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
Monitor data interface integrations, resolve data discrepancies, and support operational teams with rootcause analysis.
Develop training materials and deliver knowledge transfer sessions across functions using delivered analytics tools.
Stay abreast of industry trends in supply chain analytics, data warehousing, and BI technologies.
Provide functional support for periodic system upgrades, enhancements, and production incidents as needed.
Expected Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or equivalent.
5+ years functional experience in data analysis, reporting, or data warehousing—preferably within logistics, transportation, warehousing, or supply chain environments.
Demonstrated ability in SQL query writing, complex joins, window functions, and data optimization.
Hands-on experience with BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik.
Knowledge of supply chain processes (e.g. routing, telematics, inventory movement, warehousing, labor management).
Skilled in data interface design, mapping, ETL fundamentals, and data modeling concepts (star schemas, staging, marts).
Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and analytics solutions.
Strong analytical mindset paired with excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams alongside data engineers, product owners, and business partners.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, adhere to SLAs, and provide production support when required.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of scripting (Python, shell, or similar) for data process automation or validation.
Experience in cloudbased data ecosystems (AWS Redshift, Snowflake).
Prior exposure to WMS, Telematics, Routing, IOT data
Certification in data analytics (e.g., Tableau, SQL, or AWS Data Fundamentals)
