Job Profile Summary Responsible for the reliable operation of the organization's buildings, facilities, machinery, and equipment. Manages and/or performs work in all/some of the following areas: • Refurbishment of buildings/facilities, such as manufacturing facilities, retail stores and/or warehouses • Preventative and reparative maintenance of company buildings, facilities, machinery and equipment • Oversight of work related to electric maintenance, mechanics, hydraulics, carpentry, and masonry, substituting, changing, cleaning, repairing and installing pieces, components, and equipment

JOB SUMMARY

This Operations position oversees the safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance of the facility and material handling equipment, Ammonia refrigeration system, security and fire systems, dock equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, and fleet shop support. This role requires advanced technical skills, troubleshooting expertise, and a strong understanding of safety regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ·Maintain and Repair Building Infrastructure: Conduct general building maintenance, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, lighting, and minor electrical repairs. Maintain facility assets through scheduled PM and repairs, including roofs, concrete/asphalt/wear-slabs, product racking,

    ·Operate and Monitor Refrigeration Systems: Perform daily refrigeration operator duties, including ePSM inspections and logging.

    ·Maintain and Repair Dock Equipment: Inspect, maintain, and repair various dock equipment, such as levelers (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic), doors (manual, electric), truck restraints (manual, electric, hydraulic), and dock seals/shelters.

    ·Develop and follow scheduled maintenance plans and repairs for all warehouse equipment, forklifts, pallet jacks, all related Material Handling equipment.

    ·Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and identify their solutions to correct malfunctions and reduce further breakdowns.

    ·Maintains inventory for regularly used parts and places parts order upon Manager approval.

    ·Repairs any equipment breakdowns or malfunctions of electrical, mechanical or hydraulic systems to ensure that warehouse functions are not interrupted.

    ·Any function that is necessary to maintain equipment in proper and safe working order.

    ·Manage Maintenance Records and Documentation: Log time and materials into the CMMS daily using work orders, PMs, etc.

    ·Ensure Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations (OSHA and others). Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order and use appropriate PPE. Respond to emergencies and promote a strong safety culture.

    ·Train and Mentor Junior Technicians: Train and mentor Facility Technician I and II staff.

    ·Complete Special Projects: Complete special projects related to building and grounds maintenance as requested, such as moving furniture/fixtures.

    ·Communicate and Collaborate Effectively: Adhere to organizational and Facilities Department policies and procedures. Interact effectively and build cooperative relationships. Participate in the departmental on-call program.

Skills

·Operation, maintenance and repair of industrial Ammonia Refrigeration systems.

·Operation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems

·Proficiency in Electrical systems, Fire suppression systems, building automation/PLC systems, VFDs and motor controls.

·Ability to perform general building maintenance tasks (carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.).

·Interpret and analyze blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.

·Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and refrigeration systems.

·Experience with ASRS and dock equipment maintenance and repair.

·Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and other relevant standards.

·Proficiency in CMMS and other relevant software.

·Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

·Ability to train and mentor others.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Facility maintenance tech school (preferred)

Experience

  • Six years of industrial facility and ASRS maintenance experience; or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Refrigeration Operator I / RETA: CARO
  • Refrigeration Operator II / RETA: CIRO (preferred)

Professional Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • Must possess a valid state Driver's License and provide proof of liability coverage meeting Company standards. Complete a Sysco approved the defensive driving program
  • Obtain a Powered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3 months
  • 608 Certification

  • Ammonia Operator

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
