Job Profile Summary Responsible for providing technical design services and support to Engineering teams in some/all of the following areas: • Designing components/portions of an engineered product, functional system, or structure • Developing layouts, drawings, models, and simulations of engineering designs using computer-aided design/engineering/manufacturing (CAD/CAE/CAM) software • Building scale models of industrial products/components and manufacturing equipment • Conducting research and analysis as input to engineering calculations, designs, and testing (e.g., surveying & mapping geographical features, stress testing materials/assemblies, analyzing/optimizing software & control systems, etc.)

Job Summary:
The CAD Operator is responsible for producing highly accurate architectural/engineering drawings for multiple projects relating to the construction and maintenance of multi-temperature food distribution facilities, food processing facilities, and other related projects. These projects may include new facilities, expansions, remodels and major maintenance of existing facilities.
This production drafting position works within a team setting to execute Sysco’s objectives and may be required to shift focus among projects regularly, depending on the company’s current needs. This person solves routine problems and issues but knows when to seek guidance from management.
Qualifications
Good knowledge of construction terms and procedures, and the ability to understand engineering drawings.
Experience in construction of or knowledge of food manufacturing and/or low-temperature food distribution facilities and meatpacking facilities preferred.
Basic understanding of site design and project permitting a plus.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external partners
Must be able to read and effectively interpret construction drawings and related materials
Good time management skills are required. The ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects concurrently is important
Strong Problem-solving Skills: Being able to identify problems, develop, and evaluate alternative solutions and successfully resolve them in a timely manner, knowing when to seek help in resolving problems,
Accountability:
Provide accurate information and assistance to support the operating companies and other internal departments in achieving their operational objectives
Plusses:
Fluency in foreign languages ( Spanish, French, or other) a plus
Proficient in AutoCAD 2012 or higher, knowledge of Revit, BIM and Sketch Up
Responsibilities:
Create architectural/engineering drawings as directed by Senior Managers.
Maintain drawing database and filing system.
Adheres to and assists in developing Sysco CAD drafting standards and principles.
Participate in regular meetings and discussions with other staff as needed. May be called upon to schedule needed meetings, and assist in presentations.
Assist in planning with preliminary sketches and hypothetical drawings as needed.
Prepare other, non-technical drawings as needed by Sysco staff.
Operate and maintain plotters, printers as needed. Maintenance shall include ink and paper supply.
Assist other Sysco CAD users as needed, on an occasional basis
Certifications or Registration
High skill with current AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel, Word, Google Earth or ARCGIS and PowerPoint required
Familiarity with industrial structures and building systems preferred, including insulated metal panel construction, ammonia refrigeration systems, automatic fire protection systems, HVAC and mechanical systems, electrical and lighting systems, plumbing, and wastewater treatment systems preferred
Familiarity with multiple drafting disciplines, including but not limited to Architectural, MEP, Structural, and Civil. Basic understanding of Americans with Disabilities Act.
Ability to read and understand drawing markups and redlines
