Description

Manages the day-to-day human resources activities at over assigned territory and distribution center location(s). The individual will function as the business partner to local and regional management.  This HRBP works strategically with leadership to successfully execute local, market-level, and enterprise=wide initiatives within the organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Required: High school diploma and 5+ years of progressive HR experience in management or senior generalist role. Broad HR Generalist knowledge with experience in employee relations, recruitment, benefits, and compensation. Prior experience on union environment a plus. Strong people skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees and management. Must be able to travel as needed.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of progressive HR experience. Working knowledge of Workday. PHR or SPHR and/or CEBS or CCP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provide counsel to colleagues and all levels of management on employee relations issues ensuring legal compliance with policy and laws.

  • Conduct internal investigations in accordance with Company policy and legal requirements. 

  • Respond to grievances, review disciplinary programs, conduct investigations, prepare for arbitration and participate in union contract negotiations.

  • Partners with management in recording of local workers’ compensation claims and OSHA reporting logs to ensure compliance.

  • Actively engage in communications with other HR team members around best practices and identifies opportunities to create consistency where necessary.

  • Partner with HR Management to develop and implement targeted training and development programs; conducts regulatory training sessions as needed.

  • Deliver leadership training for all leaders on various HR topics, including ethics, labor laws, policies and procedures.

  • Oversee the performance management process and work with leaders on their colleagues review and evaluations.  

  • Conducting job analysis and job descriptions creation.

  • Support the Director of Human Resources in executing organizational strategic initiatives.

  • Maintain current knowledge of state and local DOT standards and requirements. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
