Job Summary

This role will lead planning, development, and execution of pricing strategies, including 1) evolve the capability to go further with machine based learning and optimization, 2) evolve the pricing tools including exception process and performance management into price decisions, 3) lead the evolve the TRS pricing strategy into an architecture to support sales growth through intentional category/cuisine pricing, 4) manage total company financial goals through week to week pricing decisions, 5) support execution and expansion of analytics based pricing in US local business (both street and local contract customers), and other optimization of financial elements of the business This role will work closely with the Sales Strategy/Execution teams, field Revenue Management team, Merchandising, and key cross functional partners such as the Enterprise Analytics team, Finance to drive alignment, execution and to collect feedback.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support Senior Director, Revenue Management by leading the development & implementation of pricing strategy with a focus on TRS growth – define, design, and implement growth strategic shift from manual week to week pricing to centralized technology driven pricing at scale including category/cuisine pricing strategy and machine learning driven optimization of “tail items.” This includes but is not limited to creating the category / cuisine pricing strategy, defining the path to test into the strategy, and automating the strategy over time

  • Build and generate performance insights and processes that enable data led pricing decisions

  • Approve weekly pricing changes across multiple business centers and evaluate margin impact to develop pricing optimization recommendations

  • Proactively identify pricing opportunities and risks, develop recommendations, and implement solutions with cross functional teams and field leaders

  • Contribute to Revenue Management roadmap that elevates pricing quality, evolves analytical capabilities, and drives profitable growth across categories, cuisine types, brands, etc.

  • Collaborate with enterprise analytics teams to establish A&B testing scenarios, of front-end usability changes, to generate insight into how to further optimize pricing performance

  • Lead leadership and key stakeholder alignment on pricing strategies and deployment tactics

  • Develop strong working relationships with the field organization to capture input and feedback on solutions and opportunities. Lead, Manage, Coach & Develop team

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, statistics, engineering or another analytical field of study

Education Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field or computer programming, MBA or equivalent advanced degree

Experience Required

  • 8 -10 years of relevant experience in e-Commerce Merchandising and execution of pricing strategy or a combination of relevant experiences specific to food service (e.g., finance, revenue management, sales, etc.) domestically and internationally

Experience Preferred

  • Transformation of pricing strategy inclusive of a shift to technology driven quantitative optimization of pricing strategies

Skills and Abilities

  • Skill of analytics in excel, tableau, and other relevant tools, depending on the exact role within the team additional technical skills including detailed knowledge of SQL, Python, and other similar analytical tools.

  • Development of visual communications to influence executive decision making based on quantitative learnings.

  • Strong ability to communicate complex analytical recommendations at the concept level to drive executive team alignment and decisions on critical elements of pricing strategy.

  • Cross functional collaboration as pricing recommendations impact: sales, finance, category management, customer growth and many other functions within Sysco Foods

  • Experience with A/B testing solutions such as Optimizely

  • Exceptional leadership skills to build bridges and lead in cross-functional teams to deliver insights

  • Exceptional analytical skills to identify and quantify new opportunities and gaps and the ability to synthesize and analyze large sets of data to yield actionable findings

  • Proven track record for driving business results through strong leadership, communication, effective internal and external relationships

  • Extensive knowledge of ecommerce data collection technologies, key trends and framework

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new platforms and technology quickly

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to tell data story
